An Interview with Sebastian (Ganesh) by Alexa Daley.
Alexa: Hello Sebastian, thank you very much for agreeing to do this interview.
Sebastian: Yes well, you wanted to talk so here I am!
Alexa: OK so let’s get this underway… How did you become so lazy and not want to work?
Sebastian: Well, when I was younger everything was done for me and I didn’t care about anything. Also do you know how boring work can be? I mean it is so difficult and the long hours, it’s just too much for me.
Alexa: So because of this you became a vagabond? A wanderer by choice?
Sebastian: Well, I guess so. I mean I really hate hard work so being a wanderer by choice is alright. At least no one keeps nagging you all the time. Do this and do that. I’ve had enough!
Alexa: That’s really interesting. So then, why did you want to become mayor of Turlock?
Sebastian: Being Mayor made me feel like I was better than others, that I had power. If I was a leader no one could kick me out and be nasty to me. Being a leader was the best thing I had.
Alexa: If that’s so why did you become the leader of the convicts? Was it a chance to gain more power and leadership?
Sebastian: I was the one… the only one who could be the leader. None of the convicts really had any brains to be the leader. I was the only one with my C branded down low. I wanted to be on top so if that meant helping the convicts organise an attack well then I’d do it.
Alexa: So you were a convict? How did that happen?
Sebastian: Yeah I was a convict. I was a convict because I had no choice. I had to steal to survive and one day I was caught.
Alexa: Sebastian is that your real name or is it Ganesh?
Sebastian: Nope Sebastian is my real name, Ganesh was my cover.
Alexa: Why did you need a cover name?
Sebastian: Because I needed one! If I tried to do things with my real name people would know who I was and I would have been found out long ago. With a new name I could start life again and no one who would know who I was. I could do anything I wanted without being questioned.
Alexa: So why were you very nice to me when I arrived this summer?
Sebastian: I needed to gain your trust. I needed you to trust me so that it would make it less obvious that I was behind all of this. How much longer are you going to be asking me questions?
Alexa: Oh, only a few more, don’t worry. So when my father and I arrived this summer at Reny Lodge, you and Warvold were chatting like old friends, didn’t you ever think about just leaving the convicts and having a normal life?
Sebastian: Well yeah of course I thought of ditching those pathetic losers. I mean who wouldn’t, when they can’t even think of an invasion themselves. Having a normal life, ha! Never going to happen anyway, so why bother.
Alexa: Just one more question ok.
Sebastian: Yeah alright hurry it up.
Alexa: Did you ever actually like us?
Sebastian: Yeah I liked you when you were little and you weren’t so nosey! Do you know how annoying your father can be? Warvold though, yeah I liked him. He was kind, sweet and he helped me a lot. So there, that was your final question, can I leave now?
Alexa: Well, thank you for your time (pause) I was just wondering? If you were trying to plan an invasion wouldn’t you stay hidden, not be in the public eye?
Sebastian: I thought that was your last question!
Alexa: I changed my mind. So…
Sebastian: I’m not going to tell you, you, YOU BRAT!
Alexa: Well then, if that’s they way you want it you can go and rot in jail for all I care!
Sebastian: Right, whatever. I’ve got plans to make!
